The harp seal is a carnivore so they really eat fish and crustaceans. The harp seal out of all foods it eats it prefers the codfish. It loves to swim in the North Atlantic and Arctic Oceans. It will be able to stay under water for as long as 15 minutes. Sometimes the people call the harp seal the saddleback seal because of the dark spots on their bodies, they also have gray and yellow on them to. The harp seal can eat up to 67 per day; they find a big group of fish and eat 67 of them. The baby harp seal weights up to 15 pounds and is 3 feet long. The harp seal is 400 pounds and is 5 ½ feet long. They are so fuzzy and fat. People like to shoot them. In order to protect we should create laws banning the shooting of them.
I chose to write about the harp seal because I thought they were so cute, and I didn’t know anything about them. I am glad that I chose to do the harp seal because now I know that they eat 67 fish a day, and that they are 400 pounds. Before I did the harp seal all that I knew was that they were really big and they ate a lot of food.
